INITIUM interior base coat paint

USE
INITIUM paint is used for application of base coats on walls and ceilings indoors.
Object type: residential housing, public access, healthcare, educational care, commercial and service, industrial, outbuildings, infrastructure.
Substrate type:
cement -lime, cement plasters; concrete (monolithic and prefabricated); rough walls made of ceramic, silicate hollow blocks, bricks and cellular concrete; gypsum plasters, finishing coats and fillers; polymer finishing coats and fillers; plasterboards, OSB boards;
paper, vinyl and fiberglass wallpapers; acrylic paint coats.
PROPERTIES
INITIUM paint is manufactured on the basis of acrylic binder with addition of fillers and chemical agents.
Levels and unifies substrate properties in terms of colour and texture; improves coating and reduces consumption of top coat paints; facilitates application of top coat paints.
PAINTING
Substrate preparation:
The substrate should be:
-
stable,
-
air-dry,
-
clean – dedusted and cleaned of any old paint coatings or other coats which would impair the paint bonding, in particular of dirt, dust, wax and grease,
-
even, free of cracks, gaps should be repaired before painting; it is advisable to use FINITO mass for surface repairs,
-
primed – substrates of high absorptiveness and absorbability or dusty ones should be primed with PRIMER emulsion; non-absorbable substrates, e.g. plasterboards or coated with emulsion paints, can be coated with INITIUM base coat paint without priming.
Paint preparation:
The product is delivered ready to use. It must not be mixed with other materials. Mix well before use with a low speed mixer with a drill for paints in order to unify the consistency. In case of machine application it is allowable to add 10% of clean water. The paint can be coloured with pigments from the Fox Dekorator system of tubes.
Painting:
Apply the paint upon prepared and stable substrate with thin and uniform coat. Paint can be applied with a roller, a brush or sprayed. Depending on the substrate absorptiveness and texture, the paint should be applied once or twice. The second coat can be applied when the first one dries. Top coat paint can be applied after approx. 2 hours, when the base coat paint is appropriately dry.
COVERAGE
Coverage: approx. 9 m²/ 1 l of paint for single coat on smooth surfaces. The actual coverage depends on substrate texture and absorptiveness, quality of substrate preparation, technique of application, user’s experience, number of coats.

IMPORTANT ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Air the room during painting and directly after until characteristic smell disappears.
The tools must be cleaned with clean water directly after use, before the paint dries.
Keep out of reach of children. Unconditionally use respiratory, eyes and hands protective equipment when spraying. Follow the instructions of the Safety Data Sheet.
Keep in tightly sealed original and labeled containers. Keep in dry and cool places, protect against overheating (> 30 °C) and freezing - the product freezes and irreversibly loses its performance in temperature below 0 °C. Protect against direct sunlight. Shelf life in conditions as specified is 24 months from the production date shown on the packaging.
